The afternoon was all about exploring the wellness and medical tourism potential in the Philippines. Hearing from DOT‘s Undersecretary Atty. Mae Elaine T. Bathan and Dr. Paulo Tugbang filled us with a sense of pride and opportunity. They shared valuable insights into the growing wellness sector.

Then, the spotlight turned to medical tourism with DOH Undersecretary Dr. Maria Francia Miciano-Laxamana leading the way. Her talk, supported by DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa, outlined the Philippines’ ambition to become a leading destination for medical tourism. For us at Life+Saver, this was an eye-opener and a chance to align our initiatives, like Tech Neck Mo and Bonnet The Cause, with the national wellness agenda.

Being a part of this event wasn’t just an opportunity to learn and grow. It was a chance to be part of a larger movement, to contribute to the national conversation about health and wellness. The official opening of the Health & Wellness CONFEX 2024 in the afternoon was a momentous occasion, marked by the honorable presence of Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano and the Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Atty. Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr. Their participation in the ribbon-cutting ceremony signified not just the start of the event but also the strong support from the local government and national authorities for the health and wellness initiatives.

The Mayor of Pasay City, representing the host city of the CONFEX, shared inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of health and wellness in building strong, vibrant communities. The DILG Secretary’s presence underscored the national government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the well-being of its citizens. Their joint participation highlighted the collaboration between different levels of government in advancing the health and wellness agenda in the Philippines.

This ceremonial act, with the cutting of the ribbon, symbolized a new chapter in health and wellness advocacy, opening doors to numerous possibilities for innovation, collaboration, and growth in this vital sector. It was a unifying moment that brought together government officials, industry leaders, health advocates, and attendees, all sharing a common goal of advancing health and wellness in the nation and beyond.

Life+Saver’s Moment to Shine

As Life+Saver, we were more than participants; we were advocates. Our presence, amplified by Tech Neck Mo’s advocacy, was not just about showcasing our projects. The day wrapped up with an engaging B2B Meet & Match session, where connections were made, and ideas were exchanged. Day 2 at the Health & Wellness CONFEX 2024 was another exciting chapter for us at Life+Saver. We were right in the middle of all the action, soaking in every bit of knowledge and inspiration.

Morning Focus: Travel & Tech Forum

The day started with the “Travel & Tech Forum.” This was right up our alley, blending our love for tech with our passion for wellness. Noel Dichoso Soriano, who co-founded the CONFEX, kicked things off. He talked about how technology is changing the way we look at wellness, something we at Life+Saver believe in strongly.

The forum was full of new ideas. We saw demos, attended workshops, and listened to experts talk about using technology to improve health. It was great to see our work with Tech Neck Mo get a nod here. We’re all about advocating the proper use of technology to make life better without compromising health.

Afternoon Insights: Natural and Organic Living

The afternoon shifted to natural and organic living, which is something we care deeply about at Life+Saver. Mr. Dale Russeth Gabanes from the Department of Agriculture led a key talk. He shared how living a pure, organic lifestyle is key to long-term wellness. This part of the day showed us the latest in natural beauty and aging, and it was exciting to see how these areas are moving towards more sustainable practices.

On the last day of the Health & Wellness CONFEX 2024, we at Life+Saver experienced something truly special. Let me share with you the essence of this unforgettable day.

Celebrating Heroes: MASIGABO Festival

The day began with the Philippine Wellness Festival, named “MASIGABO.” This festival was all about appreciating the hard work of Filipino Migrant Workers. Ms. Vilma Selga, who oversees the CONFEX, opened the event. Her words were touching and set the mood for a day full of gratitude. For us at Life+Saver, it was a moment that reflected our values of recognizing and valuing hardworking individuals.

The festival was full of different activities – there were speeches, demonstrations, and cultural shows. One key speech was from Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary Atty. Maria Anthonette C. Velasco-Allones. She talked about how important wellness is for migrant workers. It was a strong message that really made us think about the bigger picture of what we do at Life+Saver.

Financial Health and Fashion

One part of the day that really stood out was a talk about managing money by Mr. Chinkee Tan. His advice was practical and useful, reminding everyone how financial health is part of overall well-being.

Then there was the “Mode Filipina” fashion show. It wasn’t just any fashion show; it focused on sustainable and responsible fashion. Seeing this creativity and innovation was inspiring, and it was great to see fashion and wellness coming together. This is something we at Life+Saver really support – the idea of holistic well-being.

Our Role and Looking Forward

Throughout the day, we didn’t just watch; we were part of the discussions. We shared our ideas and learned a lot too. It was a chance for us to connect our work with the larger themes of the CONFEX.
